Balrog test

This is a test to see how easy I can BaLrOG from my fancy phone. This is an inked sketch I did out of boredom. That's Mr monkey and Ethel just getting done robbing a bank.

UPDATE : seems I can't place the image anywhere I want. Nor does it seem you gentle quantumiers can click to enlarge. Everything else about posting was easy peesey. Test half fail.

So oops, I forgot i should be an animator. Also forgot that i still do things and should tell folk. So here is an internet commercial i did for a credit union, (about a year ago) Viriva. Look them up if you are in the philadelphia area and are looking for a credit union. (there. though i didnt sign a contract saying i couldnt show this work, i think that promotion should avoid any imperial entanglements)

Enjoy. 10 Rob points to the fellows and fellas (wait ... that doenst sound genderly female.) who can accurately guess who plays which voices. (hint, don't limit your thoughts to think of only non-celebrities ... oh yea, that guy/gal) <-- genderly female

New piece up dude, dudettes and dude-eaters. (eater of dudes) This one is nice and straight forward. It was for Toys for Tots, and we had the option of donating monies made from the arts we made to ... the tots. So i donated a potential half. (it has to sell 1st for it to count) So that seems to give me the right to jack up my usual asking price. Though some seem to think i've been asking too little anyway? What do you think? i've only been asking for the moderate price of: Your eternal childhood innocence! And the gallery gets 20% of that. So maybe i should start asking for more. We shall see. And smell.

Happy so on Folks! So here is the newest piece for you to gawk at. I am sure some of you might feel a sense of awe for the Majesty contained therein for seeing such a nobely endeavored selection of scribbles in art. Some may feel horrified that i mutilated one beloved childhood friend, and suggest another is a college jockette strumpet hussy that can only wear the sexy version of an inherently unsexy idea of a costume whenever the chance arises. Either way, shut up, i dig it. This gallery was Halloween in videogames. Or maybe Horror in videogames. Possibly Summer Memories. I forget.

(side note, hopefully you have that option to shrink or expand an image, because i forgot to make a smaller web-friendly version of this slightly large piece. Also the largest i've made for a show, as it was printed at 11x14. Possible size comparison images coming soon)

Robot and little boy

Hey there all,
So originally i wasn't going to post this, but what the shit right? Acctually i threw this up because of additional news. But let's start with the piece's creation, 'cuz i know you all just twitch and seizure in anxious delight for my maddening and mundane reasoning behind everything. So this was for a new art gallery show thing, the theme being Tokyo Pop Culture. So after a few sketchbook pages of ideas, this is the one that tickled my awesome places. All of the places. For those having trouble making out the image, it's of a giant robot, leaning over, talking to a little, innocent boy. Because this happens all to often in japanese culture. And the robot is asking, very politely, for the boy to be inside him. You know, so they can learn and grow from each other.

So again i made it the night before, and got far enough along that maybe i made compromises in the sketch phase to move on to the rest. So if i had to really think about it, i should change the head to be more clear as a head. Didn't do that, and i didn't think the pic was too readable in the end. Which could be a mix of the color scheme, and the design of the robot. And i am adamant about cutting off the top of the robot's head, to make him feel bigger, it becomes less clear since i made his jaw weird.

But the other news! I submitted the piece anyway, because i love myself and my work, and think people should say how awesome my crappy stuff is. (if i am being modest or not. Don't know how often i am modest though) So it's in the show, again next to phenomenal pieces, that blow mine away. The only time i am able to even see it in it's intended glory, with a small audience on First Friday, is i have to meander over during my break at work. So i have this 30min window, minus travel walking time, to gaze upon my work and others'. So i talk to the officially unofficial caretaker of the show, of whom i've met on many many occasions in the last few years, and she has yet to remember remembering me. Anyways, after talking about the pieces, and eventually mine, she mentions some dude came in, bought like 3 pieces off the wall at once, and one was mine! Stoked! i am stoked. I mean i've only sold one other piece in these shows ever. (see previous posts quantum believers, to find out which one.)

And i can't believe its another piece that i didn't think was that good from me that made this imaginary cut of does someone like it enough to buy it. Unlike the 1st two shows i was in, this one does not put your name, piece name, media used, price and contact info up on the wall with the image. I don't care either way. But that means mysterious purchaser took mine sight unseen ... as far as price was concerned. So my greedy little head, i should have asked for like 1o more bucks. Not because the comic store where this is located takes 10%, i am super cool with that. But just so i have more seed money to buy more cheap ass frames for people to buy more of my computer'ed art. Though selling for 20 will get me another 4ish frames to sell pictures i am not too fond of. God, i just love my last one sooo much. The image, the color, the idea ... all so clean. But that little boy is fucking adorable, and i love the amount of suggested innocence. His giant lolly, and potential new balloon for him to play with. You don't know this kid. He could be a serial milk rapist. He enjoys getting his bones stronger anyway possible. Enjoy that image, coming to a gallery near you!

Another Gallery

Man that time flew. Another month, another gallery piece. Between this and holiday cards, seems to be the only things i update with anymore. Well art is art. That should be on a fortune cookie. Or a Coffee cup of some kind. Some deep shit. ANYWAYS ... the theme this month was 80's toys. So here is one of my classic GI JOE mans Sargent Slaughter, crushing a Rubix cube. For there is only one way to solve the cube ... with Slaughter ... Sgt Slaughter.

Self Indulgent art for ... the self. That's me

Hello all. A real post. Do you enjoy the longer, verbally abusive stuff? Are there people to ask? Or is it just me proofreading my Balrog posts months after i've stopped caring about grammatical foibles. Ha, that's a lie. I know i stop caring about that stuff well before i even type out the horrors done to english.

Onward! So it was another gallery themed gallery. This one was 90's whatever themed. Specifically Tv, movies, nostalgia, so you know, the 90s. Anyways i collaborated with my bro for an idea and we went with my origianal idea to glorify Urkel. (ala an internet famous picture of Betty White, with a ripped viking body, holding a flaming chainsaw, whilst riding a centaur John Ritter.) Well after the collab, we got to remenicing the fact we know too much about Family Matters. If some of you recall, the genius Stephen Q Urkel has had several many incarnations of an urkel on the show. So we decided to put all we could thinking of in one story. How many Urkels can you name? Do you even care? No? THEN GO TO LADY GAGAs GEE-DAMN FUCKCUNT WEBSITE! Think you know so much about stuff. Get a job hippy. Oh, well anyways, here's the pieces. Ya, two of em.
